Natural-stone fixing within specified packages. Selection of bedding or adhesive, joint details and protection depends on the stone, substrate, location and finish requirements.
Floor preparation and levelling
Review existing screed or concrete, old adhesive, cracks and required levels. Define removal, repairs or levelling separately where needed before the selected finish is installed.
Wet-area interfaces
Coordinate waterproofing, drainage falls, outlets and thresholds before tiling. Tiles and grout are not a substitute for the specified waterproofing system beneath the finish.
Joints and transitions
Agree movement joints, grout, perimeter treatment and junctions with doors, stairs and other floor coverings. Do not simply tile across a designed movement joint.
External and community paving interfaces
Review suitable finishes, substrate condition, drainage and protection for defined outdoor flooring packages. Access and phased working need particular attention in operating developments.

Provide the tile or stone schedule, sizes, pattern, area, existing floor build-up and intended use. For natural stone, appearance variation and compatibility with bedding and cleaning materials should be reviewed before fixing. For replacement work, confirm removal depth, retained surfaces, spare-material availability and matching expectations. Waterproofing, screed and floor finish are related but separate stages that should be coordinated in one clear sequence.

Questions before requesting a quotation.
Do you install both new and replacement flooring?
Yes, within agreed flooring packages. Replacement enquiries should identify the old finish, removal limits, existing substrate and whether adjacent areas must remain in use.
Can new tiles be installed over existing tiles?
This requires assessment of the existing finish, bond, levels and selected fixing system. Removal may be necessary. The proposed method should follow the system requirements and actual site condition.
Is marble polishing included?
This page describes tile and natural-stone installation and replacement. Polishing is a separate specialist requirement and should not be assumed to be included in an installation quotation.
Does a wet-area tile replacement include waterproofing?
Only where the agreed scope includes it. The quotation should identify whether waterproofing is retained, investigated, repaired or replaced, along with testing and tile reinstatement responsibilities.
